#sketchtosee {nature} ecourse

Sketch to See registration is closed.

To see the World in a grain of sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour."
~William Blake

An ecourse about paying attention, about noticing,
about seeing with a pen.

When we take out a pen and settle in for even 15 minutes to look at something long enough to render it in our own unique way on a piece of paper, not to create something perfect but merely to open our own eyes, something happens to our vision.  It expands, it zooms out, revealing something holy in that present moment: a connection with God that can only happen when we pay attention.

"Seeing is always an act of courage."
~Marty Rubin

This is your invitation to slow down.  To loosely guide a pen as it scratches along on paper, and create an immediate and intimate connection between your eye and the page.  This is not a process of perfection, or artistic skill, but instead a meditative and spiritual practice that adds personal meaning to what is in front of you.
In this ecourse, we will seek out those unassuming things in our outside environment, and allow God to define how they will speak to us.  We will collect, we will prepare, we will sketch, all with the intention of loosening our grip on time and seeing with the eyes of the Spirit.  The beauty around us, joined with the unique way we are each created to create, will lead our experience.  And we will share in this together.

Will you join me?

  1. What a great idea. I hope you do this again ❤️

    1. I'm not sure what annoyed means ...hmmm? It's the only option it offered with Google

  2. The current presidential election has created a novel situation for those of us who work with kids with special needs. Governor Palin has promised that if she is elected to work with John McCain in the White House, she will be an advocate for families who have children with special needs. As I thought about the possibilities this might present for reform of the special education system, I inevitably considered the TAKS testing that goes on in Texas.

  3. Thanks for sharing this, man. This was one interesting read that I came across here. Share some more amazing posts like this one here please.

  4. Since we seem to have the power to choose our own nature, is it possible to use universal nature to guide our choices? river sounds
